Pay Range from $19.75 - $26.75 - Depends on Experience

SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Saturday 12:00 noon - 8:30 pm.

Summary

Keeps premises of office building, apartment building, patio homes, and the nursing home in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleans resident rooms using the "ten-step cleaning process"
  • Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces and trim
  • Maintains the appearance of rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas by inspecting, cleaning, sanitizing and replenishing supplies
  • Sweeps, scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors
  • Cleans mats, carpets and furniture; washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows/sills and door panels
  • Dusts furniture, picture frames, vents and equipment; polishes metalwork and waxes elevator doors
  • Empties interior and exterior wastebaskets and ashtrays and transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • Collects and transports newspapers for recycling
  • Transports small equipment or tools between departments
  • Moves and sets-up furniture as needed to include setting up tables and chairs for events and residents' belongings from one location on campus to another
  • Sweeps sidewalks as necessary
  • Assures work schedules are followed as closely as is practical
  • Reports all hazardous conditions or equipment failure to supervisor
  • Keeps cart is locked at all times when not in use
  • Assures that all equipment is cleaned, disinfected and stored properly at the end of each shift
  • Turns in any items found to supervisor
  • Turns in all keys at the end of each to supervisor
  • Employee may be asked to cross-train and work in other function areas of housekeeping or laundry
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
