Job Duties
Prepares and Cooks food for patients and staff:
- Follows infection control procedures (hand washing, hair net and gloves).
- Read and follow menu and daily tally sheets.
- Assure that all food products for production are available. Communicate with co-workers to obtain necessary ingredients as needed.
- Utilize departmental recipes in accordance with menu to produce palatable food.
- Food presentation within departmental standards.
- Distributes prepared food to cafeteria and diet kitchen according to designated times in policy.
- Replenish prepared food as needed.
- Utilizes tally sheets and preparation instructions from supervisor daily for all food prep
- Record temperatures in log book, per policy.
- Label and date food products, per policy.
- Remove and records outdated items or unused items as directed
- Sanitize pots, pans, and utensils, hand wash and then run through the dish machine and disperse to appropriate storage, per policy.
- Consistently displays the willingness to work as a team member
- Assist in various locations as needed and directed by supervisor
Cleans and Sanitized work Area:
- Follows infection control procedures (hand washing, hair net and gloves). - Follows departmental cleaning and cleaning schedule as assigned by management
- Maintains an organized and clean work area
Operation of Equipment:
- Read and follow operational policies on equipment.
- Reports out of service equipment to supervisor immediately.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment on the day of use, per policy.
Continuing Education:
- Attends all required In-services
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to read, write, and follow directions
- Knowledge of quantity food production for regular and special diets
- Knowledge of sanitation standards
- Ability to work with others
