SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE

The Custodian performs a wide range of janitorial and facility maintenance tasks and procedures on a daily basis. This position is responsible for numerous duties that include but are not limited to : cleaning walls, floors and equipment, waste disposal, and various other facilities and maintenance duties. This position will work closely with the Department Manager and maintenance personnel to ensure a clean and organized work space so that production can be optimized.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain a clean and organized work environment including : Factory Floor, Offices, Restrooms

Ability to clean all general walking surfaces using a broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, squeegees, etc.

Ability to clean and sanitize the following surfaces : toilets, sinks, mirrors, windows, tables, chairs, railings, door handles, etc.

Ability to take out trash from offices, productions floor, shipping area and place in outdoor hopper.

Ability to monitor supply inventory and reorder in a timely manner.

Follow company production and safety procedures

Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and government regulations

Assist maintenance personnel on tasks and projects as needed

Complete all other reasonable tasks assigned by the Department Manager

Communicate with the Department Manager as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

1 + years previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred

Must be able to work well with others and have excellent communication skills

Ability to handle a physical workload

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Eager to take on responsibility with a personal sense of accountability

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a warehouse and office environment.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and / or sit for prolonged periods of time, some walking. Employees are regularly required to talk and / or hear. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that may include use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands and / or fingers. The employee must be able to carry and / or lift up to 50 lbs if needed.
