Classification : Part-Time / Full-Time (Hourly + Tips)
Required Certifications : Arizona Food Handler's Card & Title 4 Alcohol Certification
Position Overview :
As a Bartender at the Speakeasy, you are the front line of our guest experience in a refined yet spirited setting. You are responsible for preparing creative cocktails, providing warm and memorable service, and maintaining an atmosphere of hospitality that reflects the elevated, intimate vibe of our hidden lounge. You'll work closely with the bar and service team to deliver consistent quality, uphold safety and compliance standards, and contribute to the unique culture of The Speakeasy.
Key Responsibilities :
Guest Service & Hospitality :
Greet guests in a friendly, engaging manner and foster repeat clientele.
Make tailored drink recommendations and craft classic and signature cocktails.
Engage with guests to elevate the overall experience while maintaining a relaxed and attentive presence.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Bartending & Beverage Execution :
Prepare all beverages to recipe specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
Manage the cocktail-making process from prep to presentation.
Maintain deep knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail trends.
Monitor bar inventory and communicate low-stock needs.
Cleanliness, Compliance & Safety :
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bar area throughout the shift.
Ensure all Arizona state and city alcohol laws are followed.
Uphold our standards for responsible alcohol service and guest ID verification.
Bussing tables and bar as needs.
Complete daily checklists, including closing, restocking, and cleaning.
Required Qualifications :
Must be at least 21 years of age
Minimum 2-3 year of bartending experience in a high-volume or craft-focused environment
Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and local beer
Possess a current Arizona Food Handler's Card and Title 4 Alcohol Certification
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Experience with POS systems (Square preferred)
Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Attributes :
Passion for hospitality and craft beverages
Strongly Preferred Master Bartending Certificate
Knowledge of prohibition-era cocktails and speakeasy-style service
Ability to multitask under pressure while maintaining composure and accuracy
Strong communication and customer service skills
