Job Title: Parking Attendant
Department: Parking

Status: Seasonal (FT & PT)

Reporting To: Parking Manager

Position Overview:

Parking Attendants are the first contact point for many of our guests. Parking Attendants are expected to work in varied inclement weather conditions while maintaining a positive, outgoing and guest friendly attitude. Parking Attendants are expected to efficiently manage parking lots and ensure the maximization of available parking space while ensuring the safety of our team and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge every vehicle arriving or leaving the resort with a wave
  • Greet and welcome guests as they exit their vehicle
  • Evaluate parking to ensure optimal utilization of area and maintain safety of all guests
  • Direct and control traffic flow into, through and out of parking spaces and lots
  • Clearly communicate using words and hand motions to safely direct vehicles
  • Provide excellent guest service and knowledge of information in all aspects of Powder Mountain
  • Daily setup and teardown of parking lot signs and cones
  • Maintain parking markers and directional wands/flags in good operating condition
  • Enforcement of paid parking or other parking violations using handheld device
  • Provide guests with a smooth and orderly parking experience
  • Count vehicles parked in lots
  • Be punctual and ready to work at the start of all scheduled shifts
  • Ensure compliance to all safety regulations and company policies and inform management in case of violations
  • Snow shoveling and sanding walkways as needed
  • Other duties as assigned in various mountain departments needing assistance

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Previous guest service experience
  • Flexible schedule including days or nights
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Maintain control and demeanor in emotionally charged situations involving guests and team members
  • Great attitude, positive mindset, and able to adapt to an ever-changing work environments and situations
  • Have reliable transportation to and from the resort in all weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of 2-way radio and mobile device use
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English

Physical Requirements - Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (30+ pounds)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
  • Safely handle hazardous materials

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures, sun and wind, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (9,000ft+). Team Members can be exposed to engine noise and exhaust. Team Members will be working around moving machines/equipment. Parking lot surfaces are compacted snow/ice and can become slippery.
