General Trades Maintenance Worker

The following is a summary of the job responsibilities; this is not an all-inclusive list.

As the General Trades Maintenance Worker, you will be located at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery in Mandan, ND assisting the maintenance staff with a wide variety of manual labor and semi-skilled work. This position will perform grounds maintenance duties to include mowing, trimming, snow removal, fixing gravesites and headstones. You must be able to lift up to 250 lbs in a team lift effort to set and realign headstones as needed. Ability to perform building maintenance such as rough masonry, plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical repairs, etc. Ability to operate various equipment to dig square graves at proper depths and widths. Perform custodial duties as needed, change light bulbs and install light fixtures, fans, and other installation needs such as faucet repair, water cooler repair and assist with troubleshooting and repairing the irrigation system.

This position requires bending, stooping, kneeling and ability to work at different height level. You will be working in all types of weather conditions. The position requires a high degree of written and verbal communication skills in dealing with other employees and the general public.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties in one or more of the trade areas. Vocational or technical education in a field comparable to the position's primary responsibility may substitute for one year of the work experience requirement. Successful completion of interview process, reference checks and background investigation.
