Job Description
Cultivate a one-of-a-kind wine list, pairing our guests with delicious food and precisely chosen wine. This role will ensure the wine program is represented beyond the level of expectations by increasing guest satisfaction, sales, and profitability and achieving excellence in wine service.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all wine selections available.
- Knowledge of the particular characteristics of all alcoholic beverages offered and designated glassware to be used.
- Maintain inventory in all areas concerned, including restaurant, In Room Dining,and Banquets.
- Lead the curation of beverage menu.
- Scheduling and hosting in-house experiences, locations, and times.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations regarding all aspects of service and sales.
- Review sales and beverage costs, track actuals against budget.
- Conduct structured wine tastings giving all staff information pertaining to the wines on the list.
- Update inventory and P.O.S as needed.
- Ensure the wine list is updated with wines on the list available and correct pricing.
- Plan, organize and monitor the set-up, service and break down of all wine functions.
- Complete consumption reports and checks for all wine and liquor provided.
- Ensure that all storage areas and service areas for wine are secure when not open for business.
- Conduct training classes for employees on wine knowledge and wine service.
- Maintain a precise, eccentric and cost-efficient wine list.
Qualifications
- Formal training and certifications on knowledge of wine, regions, and food pairings.
- 3+ years' experience of wine, wine service, beverage standards, and various drink recipes.
- Knowledge of beer, liquor, and all other alcoholic beverages.
- Hospitality Certificate or Degree is preferred.
- Experience at a luxury hospitality property is preferred.
- Preferred experience in the Utah beverage market.
