The functionality of this position is to effectively and efficiently process and register all patients when they enter the ED in a courteous and professional manner. Patient education will be performed by the registration clerk in many areas including but not limited to: Free Care, Advanced Directives, Patient Consent, Patient Rights, Notice of Privacy Practice, and the Advanced Beneficiary Notice.
High School Diploma or GED with on the job training
Experience with various computer systems and typing
Knowledgeable in medical terminology
Knowledgeable in various health insurance plans
Knowledgeable in daily operations of a business office and general office machines
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting, and performing under pressure and with periods of interruption
Excellent communication and organizational skills
