1st Shift Sanitation Person (Cleaner) 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars 3008 Penns Valley Pike, Centre Hall, PA 16828 1st Shift position - 7am - 3pm Responsible for performing a variety of sanitation and deep cleaning functions throughout the Production and Entree Departments; and may assist in general labor functions as operational needs require (possibly on different shifts). Responsible for maintaining a high level of USDA standards of cleanliness. Responsible for disassembling, scrubbing, washing, drying, and re-assembling various equipment on a routine basis. This includes removing, cleaning, and re-installing pipes, cleaning smokestacks and ventilation hoods. Similar duties apply to cleaning, sanitizing and reassembly of previously disassembled equipment in all areas of the plant, in addition to non-routine sanitations tasks. Operates a forklift and/or electric pallet jack occasionally. Sets up equipment for the next day's production run as required. Assists and learns to operate various types of equipment and machinery. Learns the line flow and production of many products of the Production and Entree Departments. Cleans machinery and work areas as applicable. Becomes familiar with the proper use of chemicals for cleaning, how to check the pH of chemicals, and the proper storage of all chemicals. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly master sanitation cleaning as per the Master Sanitation Schedule and as directed by the Supervisor to ensure the Plant is always audit ready. Removes trash and debris from the Production and Entree Rooms and disposes it properly. Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity. Keeps work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices. Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality polices and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, food safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc. Adheres to common safety practices and procedures including the wearing of PPE's and Lock Out Tag Out procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. 0 to 1 year of experience working in the industrial food industry 0 to 1 year of experience working in sanitation and/or cleaning Ability to read, write and understand the English language; and general skills to satisfactorily complete the job requirements. Ability to communicate clearly Ability to work with all employees (co-workers and management) Ability to pay attention to detail and be accurate and efficient in recordkeeping Must physically be able to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally.
