Who We Are
Madelines is a Greenpoint based bar and events space with elevated bar food and larger catering menu. We host events on a weekly basis while taking care of our local neighbors on a day to day basis. We keep a clean, beautiful venue and strive to keep a food and drinks program to match its aesthetic.
As we continue to grow, we are looking to bring on a Sous Chef asap to help push the kitchen forward. If this role seems a fit for you, please send your resume in and we will be scheduling calls/interviews this week.
What Were Looking For
2+ years hot-line or sous-chef experience
Experience working in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant.
Experience working on the line and understands setup and breakdown of stations
Bilingual English & Spanish a plus
Hands-on pasta-making skills a big plus
Proven leadership, calm under pressure, team-first attitude
Food Handlers Cert & authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to identify problems and be solution-oriented regarding culinary and general restaurant operations.
An experimenter. Someone looking to create specials and collaborate on seasonal menu updates
What Youll Do
Lead the line during service, ensuring speed and consistency
Oversee daily prep, and quality control
Train & supervise cooks, prep, and dish team members
Oversees weekly inventory including ordering, receiving, and re-stocking
Uphold DOH food-safety standards and clean-as-you-go culture
Manages the execution of all orders (regular service, events, and pop-ups)
Communicates clearly and concisely with all team members during service
Adhere to company standards for labor management and maintaining appropriate staffing levels for the restaurant;
Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
Ensure safety, quality, and recipe accuracy while also keeping the Recipe Index up to date.
Uphold defined standards for food quality and hold vendors accountable for all product received.
