The work involves responsibility for the cleaning, care and upkeep of a school site, buildings or an assigned section thereof in a suburban school district.

Job Qualifications

This is a competitive class position. Successful candidates must be a current Custodian eligible for transfer, be on the current Erie County Civil Service list for Custodian, or have taken the Custodian exam on July 12, 2025.

The current Civil Service list for Custodian contains fewer than three candidates; therefore, we are able to canvass provisionally using candidates who took the July 12, 2025 exam. If the selected candidate is appointed provisionally from this group, they must qualify within the top three on the civil service list, once established, to be eligible for permanent appointment.

Possession of a valid Class D NYS driver's license at time of appointment.
