Job Description
Job Title: Food Service Personnel
Qualifications: Must be physically able to perform all duties required, including lifting of 50 pounds, stretching, and pulling.
Responsible to: Food Service Director
Primary Function: Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold food items to students and staff members in a school setting.
Specified Duties:
· Maintain high standards of food preparation, sanitation practices and cleanliness as established by the school district.
· Food Service Director will direct supervision, and cooks will be responsible for ordering food and supplies, completing food production records daily.
· Food service personnel will assist in these jobs effectively and cooperatively as directed by the Food Service Director.
· Food service personnel will carry out assignments in accordance with established procedures and under the direction of the Food Service Director, Principal, and district Superintendent.
· Have knowledge of proper care and operation of kitchen equipment.
· All food service personnel will be punctual and dependable.
· Be positive and friendly with students and co-workers.
· Strive to maintain a good working relationship with others.
· The Food Service Director will plan, assign, and review the work of the cooks. Cooks will accept his or her direction and comply.
· Food service personnel are required to use good judgment, be courteous, and tactful.
Personal Hygiene Requirements:
· Keep fingernails short and clean. Do not wear nail polish to work.
· Practice good hygiene.
· Wash hands frequently with hot, soapy water.
· Always wash hands twice after leaving the restroom: once in the restroom and once when returning to the kitchen.
· Large pieces of jewelry are not to be worn in the kitchen during working hours.
· NO SMOKING.
· Use clean gloves when serving and preparing food.
· DO NOT WORK WHEN YOU ARE SICK.
