We are looking for a talented and hardworking line cook/prep cook to add to our kitchen team. Kitchen experience is required. Compensation is dependent upon experience, skill, and abilities.
- Punctuality is important. Weekend availability is mandatory. This position requires day and night shifts.
- Must be able to read, speak and write English and Spanish. Food Handler certification is required.
Job Duties:
**This position requires cooking experience; must be able to prepare hot and cold dishes independently after training.
**Experience cooking on a wood-burning grill is helpful.
**Prepare Ingredients: Wash, chop, slice, dice, and prepare recipe ingredients and fresh produce per standards. Prepare sauces, soups, and other bulk items according to recipe specifications.
**Inventory: Re-stock kitchen, date, and rotate ingredients (FIFO). Date all food containers and rotates stock as per policy.
**Setup the kitchen, including stocking and preparing the hot and cold line for service. Replenish inventory during service as needed.
**Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and recipes to meet consistent quality and plating standards.
**Must be able to work in a high-volume environment, must be able to collaborate with other kitchen staff.
**Ability to keep the food prep areas, storage areas, and kitchen clean during service, as well as washing dishes. Closing shifts require additional kitchen cleaning. Additional cleaning tasks may be assigned based on need.
**Handle food running to service station as needed.
**Ability to be flexible and adaptable with task assignments.
We are a high-volume neighborhood sports bar. We are open seven days per week; the kitchen is open 362 days per year (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day). We are located a few blocks west of the Blue Line Division stop, and are on the 70 Division bus route (Division and Wood).
Compensation DetailsCompensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $21.00)
