On Campus Part Time Housekeeping Position Student Workers

A great position for CTS students. Flexible schedule for light cleaning of campus facilities and guest rooms, to include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, removing trash and recyclables, cleaning windows, and other similar tasks.

Shifts of 10-15 hours per week are available. The work is done Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work possible.

Experience: Previous cleaning experience is helpful but not required.

Physical Requirements: The ability to bend, squat, work on feet for 3-5 hours, lift and carry 15-20 lbs., sustain continuous motion (sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum), and climb stairs.

Requirements

  1. Cleaning Duties:

A. Clean public building exterior entry ways, vestibules, hallways, stairwells, classrooms, offices, restrooms, event spaces as assigned in Public Buildings, Apartments, and Guest Housing.

B. Assist with special cleaning projects in all of the campus buildings, annually or as needs arise.

C. Clean around the tables in the community center at the end of every Monday and Thursday and as needed.

D. Clean out the refrigerators in the community center at the end of every week or as needed.

E. Under the direction of the Director of Housekeeping perform routine inspections of the campus janitorial cleaning.

  1. Emergency Clean-Ups and Emergency Response:

A. Respond to emergency spills and clean-up situations immediately.

B. Help with departmental emergency calls such as floods, water pipe breaks, sewer back-ups, etc.

C. Rearrange priority of work schedule to accommodate any emergency situations.

D. Refer to the seminary's Emergency Response Manual for procedures and details on what your responsibility is and what to do in case of a major emergency.

E. During inclement winter weather, give special attention to keeping entryways clean of ice melt and water. This includes providing extra entry mats during these times.

F. Assist the grounds department, as needed, with snow removal during winter weather conditions.

  1. Security/Health & Safety:

A. Maintain a safe campus by meeting all OSHA safety requirements. All work will comply with or exceed all applicable codes.

B. Operation of some equipment, as well as vehicles, may be required. These should be operated at all times in a safe and courteous manner with regard to yourself as well as those in and around the vehicle.

C. Handle chemicals in a safe manner, following seminary policy as required by OSHA.

D. Fill out MSD sheets, when needed, to record chemical information. Know where the forms are kept and how to fill them out.
