Receptionist
The Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine (CFWH) provides management and consulting services to healthcare providers in the area of wound care and hyperbaric medicine. Job Overview at Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine LLC:
Responsible for answering incoming calls, greeting and checking in patients and visitors, scheduling appointments, billing and coding support, as well as a wide variety of general clerical duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone (non-switch board) and assists callers by either helping them directly, taking messages, and/or routing callers to the appropriate staff member.
- Greets patients upon arrival of appointment by checking them in electronically and notifying staff their appointment has arrived.
- Greets visitors and hospital staff, assisting them as appropriate.
- Schedules and registers patients for HBO therapy and/or wound care visits utilizing hospital software/systems.
- Performs clerical functions, including but not limited to, data entry, copying/scanning, filing, etc.
- Sorts and delivers incoming mail.
- Maintains a neat and clean waiting area, including circulating reading material, wiping tables when necessary, picking up garbage left behind, etc.
- Maintains a neat and organized reception desk area.
- Assists with cleanliness of employee eating area, including initiating team to clean out fridge, microwave, etc.
- Assist with transportation schedules.
- Assist with billing, coding and insurance authorizations as needed.
- Order office supplies as instructed by Office Manager/Program Director and puts away deliveries.
- Perform duties as directed by Office Manager/Program Director within scope of practice and other unit related duties as assigned.
- Maintain competencies, continuing education and certificates as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications for This Role Include:
- Applicant must have a valid BLS certificate from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum two years of experience as a receptionist with an emphasis on customer service, patient care preferred.
- Billing, coding and/or insurance authorization experience a plus.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must possess the ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
- Must have professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must be highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Upon consideration, applicant must agree to a background check and drug testing.
- Ability to work overtime and flexible schedule to meet patient needs.
- Positive background check, negative drug screen, and hospital credentials (as needed) required.
Travel:
This position may require light ground and/or air travel.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a Receptionist to successfully perform the essential competencies, duties, and requirements of this position. These include standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 50 pounds and sitting for extended periods of time. In addition, pushing, pulling, stooping, squatting and shifting heavy objects, as well as air travel, may be required. Employees should ask for assistance if needed.
