JOB OVERVIEW
The Event Custodian at Meydenbauer Center is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the facility with a particular emphasis on the women's restrooms during events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Services and maintains women's restrooms during events.
- Ensures proper storage of all equipment.
- Sweeps, dusts, vacuums and wet mops floors.
- Operates mechanical cleaners, polishers or other floor care equipment.
- Works safely with a variety of chemicals.
- Assists in gum removal and squeegeeing/mopping up liquids, drinks spills in area.
- Removes recyclable material and garbage from receptacles and keeps receptacles clean and odor-free.
- Cleans debris and waste matter from clogged drains and toilets.
- Dusts and cleans the wall air intakes and outlets, light fixtures, sills and ledges.
- Vacuums and steam cleans carpets.
- Removes fingerprints and cleans partition glass and doors.
- Assists in providing courteous directions to guests, vendor or exhibitor vehicles during changeovers.
- Responsible for guiding assigned coworkers to complete assigned tasks.
- Assists in training new staff members through on the job training.
- Assists as needed in the set-up of chairs, tables, risers and other event equipment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months of related experience or training.
- Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

None required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works throughout the building. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.

The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
POSITION TYPE / WORK SCHEDULE
This is a part-time position. Hours are variable; however, the most common shifts are 6:30am - 3pm and 3pm - 11:30pm, 2-3 shifts per week. At times, the Event Custodian will be scheduled to work early mornings, late evenings and holidays.
