Facilities Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
This role is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and upkeep of all building systems. Key responsibilities include installing new equipment, relocating existing equipment, and managing the distribution of plant utilities to and from all machinery. The role emphasizes plumbing skills, particularly in solvent welding Schedule 40-80 PVC/CPVC pipe connections for installing and relocating CNC equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Meet with the Facilities Supervisor daily to coordinate work requirements.
+ Manage the daily facilities operations of the property and buildings.
+ Identify building maintenance needs, prioritize work, and take corrective actions.
+ Perform a full range of skilled building maintenance tasks for extended periods.
+ Conduct skilled labor tasks including plumbing, industrial mechanics, minor electrical and HVAC work, rigging, equipment transporting, grinding, machining, minor carpentry, and demolition.
+ Install new or relocate existing equipment in high traffic production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and safety.
+ Handle utilities hookups such as water feed, coolant lines, vacuum lines, exhaust piping, and drain connections.
+ Perform repairs and maintenance in compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures.
+ Read and interpret sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
+ Contribute to the development of the facilities maintenance team and enhance team technical knowledge.
+ Assist in installing new equipment, facility upgrades, perform repair work as needed, support production, assemble office furniture, relocate office employees, and other maintenance tasks.
+ Continuously inspect property and buildings for safety issues and take immediate corrective actions.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in plumbing, especially in solvent welding Schedule 40-80 PVC/CPVC pipe connections.
+ Experience in facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and repair work.
+ Ability to install and relocate equipment safely and efficiently.
+ Capability to read and interpret technical sketches, diagrams, and blueprints.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and transport dollies.
+ Ability to sustain physical work for extended hours.
+ Capability to lift up to 70 lbs.
+ Willingness to work in varying noise levels and environmental conditions.

**Work Environment**
The role is based on-site in Somerset County, NJ, with a standard workweek of five days. The work requires sustaining physical activity for 8+ hours on a standard 3-shift operation or 12+ hours per day on a 24/7 operation. The environment involves standing, reaching, pulling, sight, walking, bending, climbing, and crouching. The office environment maintains a moderate noise level, while shop noise levels may require protective ear coverings. Work may sometimes occur in external weather conditions, with overtime demand according to equipment or facility breakdowns. Exposure to grease, oil, and water is frequent.
