Position Summary:

The Lead Valet Attendant is responsible for delivering professional, courteous, and compassionate guest services to patients, visitors, and guests, while upholding the standards set by TJC, ABM, and the Hospital. This role supports the Operations Manager by overseeing daily valet operations, supervising valet staff, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality guest experience.

Pay Rate: $19.50/hr.

The pay listed is the salary range for this position. An offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all valet activities and personnel during assigned shifts.
  • Lead by example in proactively greeting and assisting all guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Monitor and manage traffic flow in valet lanes and hospital entrances to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Maintain a congestion-free front driveway by directing traffic, preventing illegal parking, and ensuring prompt vehicle storage.
  • Train, mentor, and support valet team members to uphold service standards.
  • Authorize breaks, manage shift transitions, and ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
  • Predict and communicate traffic flow patterns and proactively address potential issues.
  • Organize vehicle key distribution and manage the "next car parked" system.
  • Handle guest inquiries regarding valet and self-parking options, hospital services, and directions.
  • Assist with employee and transport van drop-offs/pick-ups and direct deliveries appropriately.
  • Accurately manage tip pool distribution and valet payment processing.
  • Prepare and reconcile daily cash reports, including cash, checks, coupons, vouchers, and complimentary parking.
  • Monitor and replenish currency and coin supplies as needed.
  • Operate, park, and retrieve vehicles safely, adhering to all traffic laws and facility policies.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage traffic flow and valet operations efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in handling cash and balancing financial reports.
  • Ability to resolve issues and respond to guest and employee inquiries effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to operate both standard and automatic transmission vehicles.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
  • Must meet health requirements (e.g., TB test, Hepatitis screen, Rubella).
  • Capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
