Cafe Food Prep/Servers are one of the points of contact for guests visiting Lehmans Cafe. They will assist with food preparation, order taking, and collecting payment via the POS system. Cafe Food Prep/Servers will assist in creating a memorable experience by conducting themselves in a friendly manner and by providing excellent customer service. Candidates must be able to work most Saturdays.

Scheduling: Candidates must be available to work most Saturdays. Expected to work approximately 24 hours per week. The Lehman's Cafe is open from Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, so you can expect to typically be scheduled around that timeframe (may start at 8:00 to help with prep, or may stay past 4:00 to help with clean-up).
Responsibilities
- Clean and organize eating and service areas; collect and return dirty dishes to the kitchen for washing.
- Prepare food items such as sandwiches, salads, soups, and ice cream from the Cafe menu and recipe instructions.
- Select food items from serving or storage areas to be placed on serving trays, or in takeout bags or containers.
- Serve guests their prepared order and process payment into the POS computer system; make change as needed.
- Receive and check incoming food and supplies; notify Cafe supervisor of shortages or errors.
- Participate in food prep and stock supplies at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Inspect food service equipment to ensure they are operational at the beginning of the shift.
- Comply with Health Department regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Minimum of an 8th Grade education
Experience: Minimum experience preferred is 3-6 months in a customer service, retail and/or customer-centered environment or relevant life experience
