Negociant is looking for a part time deli clerk, with full time potential.
Brought to you by the creators of Bar Diane, Negociant is a cafe, wine shop, and cheese counter in the heart of NW Portland
We are a small team, and this is a very crucial position in our kitchen, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hardworking, dependable, and a team player. We are looking to fill around 16-24 hours to start between 2-3 days.
Pay:
Starting at $16.50 -17 DOE per hour, plus tips that average an additional $4-8 per hour.
Candidates with cheese and charcuterie knowledge will take priority, but anyone is wee to .
We are looking for a customer-facing individual who is passionate about food and enjoys engaging with clientele. This position involves regular guest interactions and assisting customers with selections from our cheese and meat deli case.
What We're Looking For:
Communication: Speak up & listen well
Attitude: Friendly, positive, and a team player
Organization: Stay tidy, prepped, and keep things running smoothly. Determine production needs for service and the following days prep.
Dependability: Show up on time and be ready to rock!
Details: Taste, notice, and care about the food and the space
Physicality: Able to stand 8+ hours, lift 50 lbs., move around a small kitchen
Teamwork: Willing to pitch in wver needed yes, that sometimes means dishes
Maturity: You'll have autonomy; responsibility and trust are key.
Schedule: Some opening and closing shifts.
Food Handler's Certification required*
Deli Clerk Responsibilities:
Keeping the deli Line and cheese/ meat counter stocked, cleaned, maintained andanized.
Shucking oysters
Preparing sandwiches, salads, specials, and hot items according to our standards.
Prepping for the lines for service.
Assisting our small catering department with portioning, prepping, and building catering orders.
Selling, slicing, portioning, and packing cheese and meat.
Assist guests shopping at charcuterie and fromage counter.
