Scope of Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of manual tasks which support the Collection System Maintenance division. Operates and cares for LRWRA equipment and property according to requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Always follows instructions of the Crew Leader CDL and/or Supervisor.
- Assists in loading and unloading materials.
- Uses pick, shovel, and/or other hand tools according to the requirements of the job at hand.
- Performs backfill and cleanup tasks as required.
- Maintains a good driving record.
- Maintains tools and equipment properly.
- Always follows safety practices and guidelines including wearing proper personal protective/safety equipment due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals, flammable liquids, biological hazards, toxic/flammable compressed gases, and confined spaces.
- Follows established work procedures and practices.
- Undertakes any reasonable request within capabilities that is good for the community and LRWRA.

Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience & Training
Must be 18 years of age
Minimum of six months experience in general maintenance, sewer construction, rehab, or related underground utility construction work
Some experience in performing general maintenance, sewer construction, rehab, or related underground utility construction work preferred
Must have attained a minimum of a Step 2 Utility Worker
Ability to read, write, and work simple arithmetic.
Minimum of 80 hours cross-training on a combination cleaning truck, dump truck with trailer, and loading and unloading of equipment with acknowledgement forms signed and skills test passed

Valid Arkansas drivers license.

Ability to perform
Remove and replace manhole lids, climb in and out of manholes, and work with tools and equipment
Operate equipment under direction
Work in extreme weather and difficult terrain.
Provide backup assistance to Equipment Operator CDL and/or Crew Leader CDL as required
Complete reports and forms, as needed.
Help erect safety devices according to traffic regulations where applicable.
Ability to communicate clearly and follow verbal and written instructions.
Drive standard transmission vehicles
Meet and maintain attendance requirements
Comply with all safety rules and regulations
Be available for on-call weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required
