The Reservations Specialist ensures that each customer receives outstanding service, which includes greeting every customer in a positive manner, solid menu and product knowledge, and all other components of the companys customer service standards. The Reservations Specialist interacts with customers over the phone in a positive manner by assisting them promptly and approaching them in a hospitable, friendly way. The Reservations Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service in what SHG has to offer, including but not limited to dining reservations, catering services, and banquet services.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Reports directly to the Director of Sales

Reservation Management Responsibilities :

  • Assist in online and phone reservations to maximize seating
  • Friendly and Proper Phone etiquette/ Thank guests for calling
  • Customer Service Attitude
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Answer Direct Calls
  • Inform Guests of Dinner and Wine Pairing Rates
  • Ensure Proper Mapping when assigning Tables/ Mapping out Reservations effectively
  • Addressing concerns regarding scheduling
  • Respond to guests emails promptly
  • Familiar with Word and Excel
  • Able to handle high volume calls
  • Confirm Guest Information (spelling of First and Last name, email, and phone number)
  • Communicate information to build a guest profile: dietaries/special occasion/ spouse name
  • Open Table/ Guest Center Knowledge
  • Tock Knowledge
  • Assisting Guests in booking Private events
  • Providing information about The Kitchen Dining experience
  • Multitasking skills
  • The ability to read, write and type accurately and efficiently

Catering Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assist the catering specialist as needed with taking and inputting catering
  • orders.
  • Requires communication with chefs and/or FOH team as needed.
  • Proficient on catering software.
  • Plans and coordinates catering deliveries and proper staffing with
  • management.
  • Communicates customer requests in a prompt, efficient manner.
  • Provide coverage for Catering Specialist in their absence

Guest Service & General Office Responsibilities:

  • Assists in resolving customer complaints about food quality or service, with a focus on catering food, subordinating final resolution authority to management.
  • Assists in training and supervising employees, as directed by management.
  • Assists in monitoring and updating phone system as needed
  • Cooperates and interacts with colleagues in a positive, respectful manner and with a team approach, offering to assist as needed in order to ensure customer service.
  • Reports to work on time and as assigned per the schedule on a regular, consistent basis.
  • Any other duties as assigned by upper level management.

Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics:

  1. 2+ years experience in guest service position/fine dining restaurant experience.
  2. Familiarity with Tock and Open Table a plus!
  3. Able to communicate verbally in an articulate manner.

  18. Must be able to obtain proper uniform, including black non-slip shoes
  19. Must have proof to legally work in the United States
