Job Summary

The Kitchen Steward will assist in providing quality service during catered events.

  1. Essential Job Duties
  • Set-up and operation of all plate up and break down areas.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and scullery.
  • Keeps equipment storage room and hallways organized.
  • Understand regulations and guidelines according to Health Department to ensure workplace sanitation compliance.
  • Maintains professional attire, image and demeanor at all times.
  • Attends all meetings as required.
  • Comply with all CRVA policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Assist with light culinary prep work required under the direction of the Chef and production staff.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • HS Diploma is preferred or a combination of education and experience may be evaluated.
  • Two years of experience in food service is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to clean, assemble, breakdown, and operate all kitchen equipment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are a plus.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma and relevant work experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment could vary depending on the event within the venue.

Travel Required

  • This job has no travel requirements.
