About The Community Builders TCB Join a growing organization that is strengthening neighborhoods across the nation The Community Builders Inc TCB is one of Americas leading nonprofit real estate developers and owners Our mission is to build and sustain strong communities where all people can thrive Position Description The Service Technician II plays a key role in maintaining our properties and ensuring a safe clean and functional environment for our residents This role requires strong hands on skills in the building trades and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Youll be responsible for day to day maintenance needs unit turnover preparation and supporting the overall upkeep of the property inside and out Who will I be working with You will be working with a dedicated site team that typically includes a Community Manager Service Manager your supervisor in most cases and Resident Occupancy Specialist along with other Service Technicians The size of the team will vary based on the size and complexity of the property What are my core responsibilities Respond to and complete maintenance service requests in a timely and professional mannerPrepare apartments for new residents through unit turnoversAssist with cleaning and maintaining common areas and groundsPerform general repairs includingPlumbing unclog drains repair leaks replace fixturesElectrical change light fixtures troubleshoot outlets and switchesCarpentry patch and paint drywall replace doors or trim repair cabinetsHVAC replace filters perform light troubleshootingRun service ticketswork orders efficiently and with strong attention to detailParticipate in the on call rotation for emergency maintenance issuesMaintain a clean organized work area and inventory of supplies and toolsSkills and experience you will need Basic knowledge and hands on experience in plumbing electrical HVAC and carpentry sheetrock patching plaster and paintingAbility to assist with cleaning and maintaining common areas and groundsComfortable running maintenance tickets and working on multiple tasks dailyStrong knowledge of hand and power tools cleaning supplies and safety procedures including PPEExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to troubleshoot and solve problems independentlyTrade school degree or at least three years of progressive responsibility in property maintenance facilities or hospitalityBenefits Medical dental and vision insurance12 Paid Holidays & tenure based PTO accrualsEmployer contributions to Health Savings AccountsCompany paid Life & Disability Insurance403b retirement plan with company matchTax advantaged accounts commuterparking medical & dependent care FSAHospital & Critical Illness InsuranceConfidential 247 Employee Assistance ProgramThe Community Builders is an equal opportunity employer
