JOB SUMMARY
The Community Kitchen Cook is responsible for preparing meals in the Community Kitchen as assigned. The Community Kitchen Cook works with the Kitchen Director and/or Community Kitchen Chef to ensure all meal preparations meets quality and dietary standards.
JOB DUTIES
- Embodies Eva’s Village’s core values, voice, and tone in order to provide an exceptional and effective experience for our clients, funders, employees and volunteers.
- Responsible for the preparation and implementation of meals.
- Sets up the steam table with food and appropriate utensils for service.
- Monitors temperature of all food being prepared using a sanitized probe thermometer.
- Assists in maintaining refrigerators, freezers, dry storage areas and rotations of stock according to HACCP plans.
- Responsible for general sanitation of the Kitchen prior to, during, and after the workday is completed.
- Assists the Kitchen Director in equipment maintenance and cleanliness.
- Responsible for the safety and sanitation of kitchen including equipment and supplies.
- Assists with the service of food, front of house, and delivery of dinner to the houses.
- Responsible for the closing of the kitchen, e.g. locks, lights, equipment, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
Food Handlers card or ServSafe Certification required
EXPERIENCE: 3 years’ experience in food service and banquet preparation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, lifting, and cooking throughout shift
