Job Summary: Canby Utility is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our water distribution team as a Utility Worker I, II, or III, depending on qualifications. The individual will perform work in construction, maintenance, operation, inspections, and repairs of our water distribution system. This position can be physically demanding and requires outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Examples of Qualifications by Level:
Utility Worker I is an entry-level water worker position that requires a Water Distribution (WD) Level 1 Certification within 18 months of hire, a valid Oregon Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), and any combination of education and experience required of a Level 1 certification. Previous experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of underground utility infrastructure preferred; however, on-the-job training is provided.
Utility Worker II is an advanced-level water worker position that requires WD Level 2 Certification upon hire, Cross Connection Specialist Certification within six months of hire, a valid Oregon Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), competent person training, and heavy equipment experience, in addition to the requirements of a Utility Worker I.
Utility Worker III is a senior-level water worker position that requires a WD Level 3 Certification upon hire, meets Utility Worker I and II requirements, and the ability to lead and direct the work of crew members effectively.
