Job Details Philo Ridge Farm is seeking a warm, professional, and service-oriented Dining Room Server to join our Hospitality team. Reporting to the Manager or Shift Supervisor on duty, the Server plays a key role in creating a welcoming, engaging guest experience that reflects our farms mission and values. Responsibilities include providing exceptional table service, offering informed menu recommendations, and maintaining a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. As the face of the farm, the Server helps share our story by communicating the mission, history, and seasonal operations of Philo Ridge Farm, and by showcasing how our agricultural programs are reflected in our food and beverage offerings. This is a collaborative position that supports the entire front-ofhouse team in delivering thoughtful, efficient service with genuine care. The Dining Room Server position can be full-time, part-time, or seasonal, requiring at least 18 hours a week, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.Responsibilities
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily opening and closing duties, including table assignments, menu printing, and service setup or breakdown across dining areas
- Prepare the dining room to Philo Ridge Farm standards and ensure all supplies (linens, glassware, silverware) are organized and stocked
- Greet guests warmly and guide them through their dining experience, offering thoughtful recommendations and sharing the story, mission, and seasonal operations of the farm
- Maintain a strong knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and beverage pairings, including wines and farm-sourced products
- Take food and beverage orders efficiently, ensure proper pacing of courses, and support overall flow of service by running food and assisting fellow servers as needed
- Execute wine service and beverage upselling according to Philo Ridge Farm standards
- Monitor guest satisfaction, resolve issues promptly, and uphold a high level of hospitality throughout the guest experience
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room before, during, and after service
- Must have certification of completion for Vermont First-Class Server Training or be able to provide it before the first day of work
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a server or similar front-of-house role
- Strong knowledge of food, cooking techniques, and beverage pairing
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service and high-quality food
- Professional, punctual, and reliable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities
- Team-oriented self-starter who can work independently and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stay organized under pressure
- Willing and available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
- Experienced with POS systems, cash handling, and standard restaurant equipment
- Physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and working in a range of indoor and outdoor conditions
Compensation: Hourly ($14.00) plus tips
