Warehouse Porter/Janitor

This is a night shift position with hours from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM or until 5:00 AM on Thursday and Friday, with some weekends as needed. We are looking for a diligent and hardworking Warehouse Porter/Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and organization of our warehouse facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties, ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment for all employees. This role requires a sense of responsibility and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

The Porter is a vital member of the team responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility. The primary role of the Porter is to ensure that the work environment is safe and clean for all employees.

salary: $16.49 - $16.5 per hour
shift: Second
work hours: 5 PM - 5 AM
education: No Degree Required

Responsibilities

Cleaning and Sanitation:

• Sweep warehouse floors to remove dirt, debris, and spills.
• Break down boxes

Maintenance and Upkeep:

• Assist with minor maintenance tasks, like maintaining industrial equipment clean

Safety and Organization:

• Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Ensure all walkways and emergency exits are clear of obstructions.
• Assist with organizing and tidying up common areas to maintain a clutter-free environment.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or facility issues to management promptly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment alongside industrial equipment with varying noise levels.

Other:

• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.
• Previous experience in a janitorial or custodial role, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting, is a plus but not required.
