Position : Pizza Cook

Reports to: Executive Chef

Job Overview

The Pizza Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas according to the restaurant's standards and recipes. This role requires knowledge of various pizza styles, dough preparation, and oven operation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pizza Preparation:

    • Prepare and stretch pizza dough by hand or using a sheeter.

    • Measure and assemble ingredients, including sauces, cheeses, and toppings, according to specific recipes.

    • Ensure all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.

    • Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines during all stages of preparation.

  • Cooking and Baking:

    • Operate and maintain various types of pizza ovens (e.g., wood-fired, gas, conveyor).

    • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and melted cheese.

    • Follow specific instructions for different types of pizzas (e.g., thin crust, deep dish, gluten-free).

  • Kitchen Operations:

    • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and kitchen area.

    • Assist with inventory management, including checking stock levels and notifying management of shortages.

    • Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste.

    • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.

    • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding order status and special requests.

  • Customer Service & Quality Control:

    • Ensure every pizza meets the restaurant's quality standards for taste and presentation.

    • Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care and accuracy.

    • Address and resolve any customer concerns related to the food.

  • Safety and Sanitation:

    • Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

    • Perform regular cleaning and sanitation tasks for equipment and surfaces.

    • Adhere to proper handwashing and hygiene protocols.


Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma/GED required. 2+ years’ experience in culinary service or hospitality.
