Lazy Bear is looking for a full-time Captain and service professional. Experience in a fine-dining environment is a big plus, but an innate sense of warmth and hospitality is the biggest qualification.

Were looking for professionals seeking to refine their hospitality skills in a fast-paced fine-dining setting. For those with fine-dining experience, we will deepen your connection to food and the essence of service, while letting you express your big personality and have the most fun you could possibly have in a Michelin-level job.

Requirements

  • 3+ years restaurant/hospitality experience. 2+ years fine dining, ideally Michelin environment.
  • Passion for food, wine, hospitality and the restaurant industry
  • Solid understanding of service etiquette and mechanics along with an appreciation for the little things that add up to make for a great experience for their guests.
  • Sommelier level wine/spirits knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to fluently speak/read/write English
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • RBS Certification

Job Duties

  • Learn about food and wine at a world-class level with a passionate team of people who really care about what they do.
  • Cultivating an unprecedented guest experience by not only providing the highest technical level of service to guests, but doing so with joy and effusiveness.
  • Contribute to and elevate service with a strong attention to detail, and dedication to standards.
  • Work closely with culinary team to have a full understanding of our menu and overall mission
  • Communicate with guests and coworkers in a refined, clear, and efficient manner
  • Maintain an elegant and professional manner on the floor at all times
  • Anticipate the needs of diners and provide them with the the best experience possible within the scope of our restaurant

Lazy Bear is a fine dining restaurant in the heart of San Franciscos Mission District. Awarded two Michelin stars, we serve modern American cuisine with a pre-fixe menu of many courses. The menu changes frequently and features hyper-seasonal, high-quality local ingredients. The right candidate will be joining a tight team comprised of strong individuals performing at the highest level of San Francisco dining.
