Physical Therapy & Fitness Center Receptionist
Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Physical Therapy & Fitness Center Receptionist. This position is full-time, within the Front Office at the Fitness Center located at 1021 Broadway.

Responsibilities:
- Greet and Welcome patients, staff, and visitors to the gym and wellness center
- Respond to patients' questions and concerns of all gym and wellness center guests
- Input members in gym software, check in members, verify members are active, and assist with billing tasks.
- Collect, confirm, and input all insurance information
- Coordinate with insurance providers, if necessary, to clarify coverage and guide patients through payment options or financial assistance programs.
- Schedule initial evaluations, re-evaluations, follow-up appointments, and gym appointments
- Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms
- Input prior authorization requirements into Physical Therapy referrals
- Practice high level of ethical behavior while interacting with patients and appropriate staff
- Collect and fees for gym memberships and physical therapy copayments
- Practice cultural sensitivity while working with JRCHC patients and staff
- Maintain and transmit correspondence or medical records, by mail, phone, email, or fax
- Protects patients' rights by maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information remaining compliant with all HIPAA guidelines
- Redirect to appropriate locations and provide education to patients
- Coordinating with patients, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants to ensure timely care and availability.
- Conduct follow-up calls or communications to ensure patients are following through with their therapy plans and answer any questions regarding their progress or next steps.
- Assist patients in identifying and overcoming any barriers to attending appointments, such as transportation or financial constraints.
- Provide referrals to additional resources, such as other medical services or community support, when needed.
- Provide overview and tour of Gym for new hires and guests with Director of Talent Development
- Receive and route messages or documents to appropriate staff
- Provide visible communications regarding operational changes
- Ensure patient has active referrals and checking/processing patient prior authorizations accurately. Work diligently in a timely fashion in assisting patients and closing/responding to triages appropriately.
- Utilize interpretation services for patients that require interpretation
- Be responsible for opening and/or closing tasks with the gym and wellness center.
- Coordinate with instructors at the gym of class times and maintain class attendance
- Tracking and ordering office supplies
- Maintain up to date data on the prior authorization requirement document quarterly
- Conduct tours and provide education to visitors regarding the services provided by the gym and wellness center
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- At least one year working in an office setting
- Direct experience in a primary care setting preferred
- Experience or working knowledge of EMR systems (MEDENT experience desired)
Hourly Rate: $18.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
