AL - Wait Staff

JOB SUMMARY:

The dietary aide will be responsible for preparing food for the assisted living residents according to the menu and personalized diets. The dietary aide will ensure the resident's dining needs are met with proper portion size and plating presentation. Responsible for the ALF dining room to meet cleanliness and sanitation guidelines of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare beverage selection for the resident and use appropriate dining place setting for the glasses.
• Washes all dishes and glasses.
• Inform the Dietary Manager and Chef of any chemical or small ware needs.
• Cleans and sanitizes ALF dining room and dish room.
• Removes all trash from the unit.
• Checks with nursing staff and residents regarding ALF needs.
• Checks for outdated items such as milk to ensure no outdated items are used.
• Follows instructions given by Chef and Lead Cook.
• May be pulled to work in any area of the department at any time.
• Attends scheduled food service in-services concerning food preparation and sanitation.
• Assures that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing duties.
• Label and date all food items.
• Prepares jell-o, salads and sandwiches.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
