Job Details Kingsessing Ice Cream Shop is a small neighborhood ice cream shop. We are a family owned and operated business in West Philly committed to providing fair wages and a healthy working environment for our employees.

The job entails a mixture of FoH and BoH with speaking to customers, cleaning, stock, preparing espresso drinks, and waffle cones and some simple recipes, such as waffle batter, cold brew concentrate, etc. The consensus of employees with service experience is that this is a nice place to work, and decent pay. We have a small team that we expect to work proactively and independently while communicating with management.

Specific responsibilities
Actively engage with the wide variety of persons who frequent our shop
Prepare and serve ice cream, milkshakes, and espresso drinks
Input customer orders into PoS and take payment
Prepare waffle cones and bowls
Take stock and put away deliveries
Proactively clean all surfaces, dishes, and equipment as necessary
Other typical food service tasks

Requirements

Ability to engage with a wide variety of persons in a professional, personable way
Ability to interface with small children
Can lift 35 lbs overhead
Familiarity with making espresso drinks
Experience in the food service or hospitality industry
Must be at least 18 years old

All new hires start as shift assistants, with a pay rate of 12/hr, + tips. After a demonstrating knowledge and ability of all procedures, (typically 2-4 weeks) base pay is raised to $14/hr. Typical take home pay is $19-20/hr for shift leads.
