Brownington Central School is looking for an anticipated Production Cook. Responsibilities include:Production:o Produces surplus nutritious food items from scratch such as pizza crusts, various breadsand rolls, pulled pork, salad dressings, sauces and marinades for other schools in OCSU.o Coordinates food-safe storage and transportation of extra food items to other schools.o Consults with Food Service Coordinator and other OCSU cooks about food items toproduce for other schools.o Works with Food Service Coordinator and other OCSU cooks on recipe development.o Works with Food Service Coordinator to develop other potential areas of food service inOCSU such as take-home suppers, summer meal kits, and catering services.o Serves as substitute for Head Cooks when needed.School meals:o Assists in preparing, cooking and serving healthy, nutritious and appetizing schoolmeals in accordance with child nutrition regulations.o Assists in cleaning and sanitizing food service production, storage and service areas inaccordance with food safety regulations.o Assists in purchasing food and supplies and maintaining proper inventory.o Assists in working with health office staff to meet student dietary needs.General:o Promotes educational values of good health and nutrition to the school community.o Communicates courteously and effectively with students, staff, families and public.o Completes and documents annual training requirements as provided by OCSU and theVermont Agency of Education.For a pay scale please visit page 11 of the CBA - Orleans Central Supervisory Union is comprised of two school districts (Lake Region Union Elementary-Middle School and Lake Region Union High School) supporting six K-8 elementary schools, the Orleans Central Early Childhood Program, and Lake Region Union High School.Orleans Central Supervisory Union is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom which is known for scenic and rugged area of hills, sugarbushes, farmland and lakes.
