Job Description:

The Nebraska State Capitol Building is looking for a day custodian to join their team! The day custodian is responsible for cleaning restrooms, cleaning up spills and messes that are reported, during inclement weather taking care of tracking of snow or water to help prevent slips and falls, going around the building and picking up recycle and transporting it to the basement. They will oversee the contracted day custodian to make sure they are doing their duties. They will also help set up and tear down for events in the Rotunda.

Job Duties: Cleaning and restocking bathrooms. Making the rounds through the building, picking up recycling and transporting it to the basement. Other cleaning duties such as cleaning glass and emptying trash in public areas. Cleaning up reported messes throughout the Capitol Building. All other duties assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.

Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Needs to be dependable, work independently, able to lift 50lbs, understanding of products used to do their job.
