Job Title: Food Service Specialist II

Reports To: Director, Facilities Operations

Salary: This is a full-time twelve (12 month position at 232 days with a minimum annual annual salary of $38,816.00 or $20.91 per hour (8 Hrs per day).

Job Summary (Primary Purpose)

Prepare, cook, and serve food in appropriate quantities for staff and clients. Collaborate with cafe team members to maintain high standards of food quality, sanitation, and safety.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/Certificates)

  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • Understanding of food preparation and safety practices
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and food production
  • Ability to operate kitchen tools and equipment
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read and follow recipes

Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus and recipes
  • Serve food in accordance with schedules and guidelines
  • Practice portion control and manage leftovers properly
  • Handle and store food and supplies safely
  • Maintain clean, organized work and storage areas
  • Operate equipment safely and according to procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workspaces and waste areas
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
