Requirements / Qualifications
DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the Administrative Supervisor, personally performs and supervises routine custodial work in a district school and does other work as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Two years experience as a school custodian and/or commercial janitor.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of: Methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning rooms, corridors, and equipment of large public school buildings; working knowledge of requirements of schools in determining materials and quantities to be used, and to estimate such quantities of materials and supplies; good knowledge of tools and their use and ability to use them in minor maintenance work.
Ability to: Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; ability to supervise others, plan and organize their work and see that work is done effectively; prepare records and reports; provide leadership integrity, initiative, resourcefulness, tact, good character, and high moral standards.
