ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Take orders from members and guests at Arbor Grill Accurately enters every order into the POS system. Accurately and promptly posts charges and accepts payment for orders Delivers orders to guests and frequently checks back to ensure customers are satisfied with their orders and to offer additional service. Assists with cleaning and bussing tables Ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working condition. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS High school education, GED, or equivalent experience Must have 2-3 years previous server experience in an upper tiered restaurant and/or hotel / Club. Strong working knowledge of elevated standards of sanitation. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to read tickets, and communicate with other employees. Must be able to recognize proper identification for TABC requirements. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills Must have experience with or the ability to learn to use the Arbor Grill Point of Sale system Must exhibit poise and grace in stressful situations Must demonstrate cooperation with coworkers to ensure success for the team Hours required: Scheduled days and hours vary based on departmental needs. Licenses and/or certifications TABC and Food Handler's certificate required. Must be able to work safely and effectively in outdoor temperatures. Summer temperatures outside can get above 95 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 months of year. For 2 months of year, low temperatures can get below 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Hearing / Speech: Must be able to effectively engage in one-on-one communication with guests, members, and customers and use a 2-way radio to communicate clearly and accurately with co-workers. Vision: Must be able to accurately read instructions, reports, and log sheets. Must be able to work with computers and PDAs in varying light conditions.
