Seeking: Live-In House Cleaner/ Nanny / Chef/ Gardener/ Angel (Kilauea, Moloa'a, Anahola Area) image 1 of 4 compensation: $1200/month We are seeking a service-oriented, healthy, clear, and conscious individual who LOVES cleaning and is passionate about caring for children and the Earth to come live and work on our organic farm/homestead on the North Shore of Kauai. This position is for a HOUSEHOLD MANAGER of sorts - someone who can oversee ALL housecleaning and beautification needs, plus some food prep, garden work and childcare. Daily Tasks Include: PRIMARILY House Cleaning - Dishes, Laundry, Washing Floors, Surfaces, Windows, Bathroom areas, emptying Trash/Recycling, Occasional Deep Cleaning (Floorboards, Screens, Refrigerator/Freezer, etc.) Some Child care for three amazing children - 9 months, 4 years and 6 years old Some Cooking - preparing organic meals and/or weekly food prep with guidance Some Gardening/ Working with the Earth, Planting seeds, weeding, Harvesting fruit, etc. Accommodations Provided: Private Large Modified Carport Tent with solid flooring (think Glamping) Element friendly set up - mold free environment, raised off of the ground, rain proof, enjoy the cool breezes and sunshine in a moderately shaded zone Full Size Bed/Bedding provided Some furniture is provided (bedside table, lamp, dresser, fan, bean bag lounger) Solar Power Access inside private tent (can power a light, a cell phone, fan and charge a computer - no wifi access (BYO Hotspot if needed)) Access to: Community Kitchen/ dining area/ playroom and living room area Community Lua (bathroom with sink and composting toilet) Community Outdoor Shower Laundry on site, but limited to 1-2 medium sized loads/per week. There are laundry facilities in Kapaa town. Seasonal food from the land (avocados, papayas, bananas, coconuts, mangoes, citrus and more) Space, freedom and materials to PLANT and grow your own garden, food, flowers, etc. Occasional family fireside gatherings Occasional conscious community gatherings, musical events, potlucks (alcohol-free and child friendly environment) Ideal Candidate is: Available to join us for 1-3 months maximum (a longer stay may be negotiated for the right individual after a trial period) NOT planning on getting an outside job (night job, etc.) so as to prevent burn out. We want you to feel GREAT, energized, clear and balanced. There may be in-house opportunities to earn extra cash. Committed to CONSISTENT personal practices to maintain health, wellness and excellent hygiene (perhaps enjoys yoga, qi gong, meditation, surfing, daily exercise, an organic diet, etc). Okay with living in a chemical free environment (please no perfumes, chemical cleaners or body products, etc. ~ essential oils are okay). Property is: 2.8 miles, 15 min (by car) to Moloaa Bay (a beautiful and pristine beach) 0.6 miles, 4 min (by car) to the Moloaa Fruit Stand Bus Stop 7.8 miles to Kilauea town (gas station, health food store, restaurants, shops, thrift store, yoga classes, Java Kai Bar Coffee Shop (free wifi available), Kauai Juice Co (free wifi available) etc) 7.2 miles to Kapaa Town Public Library (free wifi available), lots more shops, dining, health food stores in this area, etc. What about getting around? Purchasing an island car or renting a vehicle is highly recommended. Some people are okay with walking and taking the bus, but it can be tricky to get to certain beaches. Cars come in handy because everything is so spread out. Bike lanes are limited on the island but available in some areas. You can take your bike on the bus.
