As a Senior Lead Barista , youll set the standard for operational excellence and embody the values that define the Starbucks Experience. In this leadership role, you'll collaborate closely with the store and shift managers to guide a team of baristas in delivering exceptional customer service and crafting high-quality beverages and products.

By assisting with delegating tasks effectively and overseeing daily store operations, youll ensure smooth workflows while fostering team engagement and morale.
Senior Lead Baristas play a key role in inspiring their team, upholding store standards, and creating memorable experiences for everyone who walks through our doors. Youll lead by example, consistently modeling Starbucks mission and core values in every interaction.
Essential DutiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Delegates shift responsibilities to baristas and ensure proper completion of assigned tasks and checklists. Sets high goals for team members and drives results.
- Develops positive relationships with the shift team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
- Assists store manager/shift supervisor in directly maintaining Starbucks systems and tools to ensure that baristas and barista leads are utilizing systems effectively and efficiently.
- Provide support to management in the daily oversight of key functions and employees during the normal course of business.
- Effectively help plan, organize, and implement all daily operational routines and activities; complete all required administrative duties and daily paperwork.
- Provides new barista training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Provides feedback to store manager/supervisor on partner performance during training and post training.
- Trains barista trainers and baristas in proper Starbucks routines to ensure corporate standards are met and exceeded delivering the Coffeehouse Experience (e.g. Siren Craft Beverage Routines, Customer Support Cycle, etc.).
- Assists with developing and maintaining training schedules and certifications.
- Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve partner performance.
- Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures the shift team follows proper cash management practices.
- Complete CSU and ASC mandatory trainings as directed.
- Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks, Auxiliary Services, Campus Dining, and Cal State University Fullerton.
- ServSafe Certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two (2) years of Starbucks experience.
- Knowledge of Starbucks Daily Operations, Barista Trainer, and Barista Basics.
- History of developing individuals and teams through empowerment and integrity
- Ability to effectively delegate responsibility.
- Excellent guest service skills, ability to communicate efficiently to help keep all team members informed.
- Dependability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
EDUCATION:- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged standing and walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry forty (40) pounds of objects/material, maybe exposed to extreme noise level, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
