Custodian I Full Time Facilities

The McHenry County Facilities Management department seeks a full time Custodian to join their team. Some experience is needed to apply!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Custodian I performs housekeeping duties of cleaning offices, restrooms and kitchens which will include but not limited to emptying trash and recycling, dusting, vacuums carpet and mops hard floors. Duties may also include dusting and mopping hallways, stairs, entrances and other designated areas. This person will also stock housekeeping storerooms with appropriate supplies such as towels, soap and toilet paper.

HOURS: 4:00pm to 12:00pm 37.50 hours a week Monday - Friday No weekends!

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Remove trash and recyclables from assigned areas.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

• High School diploma or GED

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid Driver's License
