Job Description
Follow instructions and established procedures in performing all around heavy cleaning work in offices, classrooms, public areas and restrooms.
Education and Experience
The ability to read, write and follow instructions is required.
Skills and Knowledge
May be required to shovel snow in winter
Responsibilities
Sweep, vacuum and wet mop floors.
Wash walls, light fixtures, blackboards and windows.
Collect trash and remove to dumpster.
Move furniture.
Obtain and replenish cleaning supplies, paper, products, etc.
Physical Requirements
Standing 85% - 90% of the shift
Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend to below the knee (80 - 90% of shift)
Frequent stooping and/or crouching (65% - 95% of shift)
Frequent twisting and bending of head, neck, and torso (75 - 95% of shift)
Full range of arm movement required (extension, twisting, and bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, etc.) (80% - 95% of shift)
Full rage of arm movement required
Visual and cognitive capability sufficient to read labels
May be exposed to latex or rubber
Exposure to cleaning solutions
Physical strength sufficient to handle professional scrubbing machine
Able to carry up to 30 lbs. on back for 6-8 hours
Able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist height
Able to push/pull 70 pounds
Tools/Equipment
Operate a variety of equipment including vacuum cleaner, floor buffer, spray tank, autoscrubbers, etc. Use broom, dust mop, wet mop, etc. Work from stepladders.
