APR Consulting, Inc. has been engaged to identify a Maintenance Technician for a temporary crisis staffing opportunity.

Location: Hawaii (Honolulu or Maui)

Position: Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $42/hr. plus possible $200 bonus

Shift: 12 hours shifts 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am

Duration: Typically approximately a 1-week assignment starting as soon as October 1, 2025 (Must be flexible on duration and start date)

Job Summary:

As a Maintenance Technician you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of our healthcare facilities. You will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of building systems and equipment. Your work will support a safe and healing environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment, including lighting, doors, locks, and medical support systems.

Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and emergencies.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and client standards.

Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or installations.

Support environmental sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency efforts.

Assist in facility upgrades, remodeling, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance or a related trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).

Working knowledge of building systems, tools, and safety practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.

Valid Hawaii driver's license may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting.

Certification in one or more trades (e.g., EPA HVAC certification, journeyman license).

Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
