SUMMARY

A Food & Beverage Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing the Horn & Cantle Restaurant and Saloon, ensuring every guest experience reflects warmth, excellence, and authentic hospitality. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations including service quality, guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and overall experience. This role is integral to the culture of our resort, ensuring the food and beverage program not only meets but elevates the expectations of our guests through intentional, detail-oriented service. The Food & Beverage Manager fosters an atmosphere of connection and careboth for guests and team memberswhile driving operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily operations of the Horn & Cantle Restaurant and Saloon to ensure consistent, high-quality service and hospitality.

Serve as a visible leader on the floor, welcoming guests and acting as host when appropriate.

Foster a workplace culture grounded in respect, kindness, and shared responsibility.

Hire, train, and mentor the front-of-house team, ensuring clear expectations, ongoing coaching, and professional development.

Maintain high morale among the staff through encouragement, communication, and active listening.

Ensure all service standards are consistently met or exceeded.

Collaborate with the Executive Chef to maintain cohesive service and culinary alignment.

Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that support service excellence and operational efficiency.

Manage inventories of food, beverage, china, and glassware; track usage, minimize waste, and ensure proper ordering and receiving.

Collaborate with all departments to ensure a seamless, property-wide guest experience.

Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant and saloon space.

Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and labor standards.

Provide backup leadership and coverage in all key areas to ensure continuity of operations.

Take part in quality assurance audits and proactively implement improvements based on findings.

Actively participate in leadership meetings and contribute to the continued growth of the resort's culture, hospitality, and service standards.

Assist with fulfilling special requests for VIP and repeat guests.

Ensure full compliance with the company's operating procedures, policies, and service standards.

Work closely with Human Resources to maintain strong morale, performance expectations, and employee development.

Encourage a proactive, solutions-based approach to challenges and day-to-day service needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years of management experience in an upscale or luxury dining environment.

Proven leadership experience that demonstrates a commitment to coaching, team development, and positive workplace culture.

Strong understanding of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and service excellence.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage guests and staff alike.

Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and restaurant management software.

Ability to collaborate effectively with culinary, operations, and guest services teams.

Strong problem-solving skills with a calm, solutions-based approach.

Deep knowledge of the local area, seasonal ingredients, and guest expectations for destination travel.

Must be at least 21 years old and hold or obtain any required certifications (e.g., food handler's permit, alcohol service certification).

Demonstrated ability to balance elegance with approachability in service style and team management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work long hours on your feet, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

Work takes place in a dynamic environment that may involve loud noise, varying temperatures, and busy service times.

Must be able to multitask, change activity frequently, and manage interruptions with poise.

Requires the ability to lead in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a warm, guest-first demeanor.

Must be available for on-site leadership during all major operational hours and special events.
