Job Details Better Hospitality Group (BHG) is the operating group behind four of Washington, D.C.s most cherished neighborhood bar/restaurants: TAKODA in the capitals bustling Shaw neighborhood, Boardwalk Bar & Arcade on the waterfront at The Wharf, our newest TAKODA location in the Navy Yard neighborhood across the street from Nationals Park, and our newest concept to-date Easy Company at the Wharf. We are currently hiring for Boardwalk Bar & Arcade at the Wharf. BHG is the fastest growing bar/restaurant group in the Greater Washington region.

Description/Responsibilities
  • Greeting guests as they walk into the restaurant and ascertain their dining needs
  • Attend to guests upon arrival with reservations and guiding them to their table
  • Giving guests accurate wait time estimates and seating them in the waiting area
  • Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions they may have
  • Optimizing seating at different tables to ensure an even workload for wait staff
  • Answering phones and scheduling reservations with large parties
  • Perform opening and closing duties
  • Assist fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary to maintain positive working relationships
  • Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and consistency
Transportation
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Boardwalk is located on the northwestern side of the Wharf and accessible by the green line on the metro (Waterfront and LEnfant)
Knowledge and skills
  • Strong customer service skills in order to aid our guests in any matter needed
  • Have strong communication skills in order to communicate with coworkers
  • Preferred not required: previous experience with Toast ordering system.
Essential physical responsibilities
  • Constant standing/walking for long periods of time
Experience
  • Preferred not required: 1 year restaurant experience
Hours
  • Open availability, including weekends & holidays
  • Operational hours
    • Sunday - Thursday 11am-10pm
    • Friday - Saturday 11am-2pm
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00)
