Night Custodian Sweeper 6 hpd (2025-2026) - Crossroads Elementary

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.

NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: To expedite the hiring for this position, the hiring supervisor may apply for a waiver of the 15 day posting period to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services.

Crossroads Elementary is looking for a Night Sweeper for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time position (benefits included) with hours that are 3:00 to 9:45 pm Monday through Friday. Job duties include basic custodial duties (cleaning classrooms and bathrooms). Previous cleaning experience preferred but not required.

The position is 6 hours per day and 182 days per year .

(170 instructional days, 4 holidays, 7 planning days and 1 extended day)

Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.

25-26 payscale

Step 0: $14.41

Step 10: $16.40

New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)

Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the number of reamining paychecks. This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
