Position Overview
The role of a Host at El Toro Mexican Restaurant extends beyond the warm greeting of our
guests; it encompasses the orchestration of dining room flow, meticulous management of
reservations, and the efficient handling of to-go orders. The ideal candidate will excel in
communication, demonstrate a knack for multitasking, and possess an unwavering
commitment to customer service.

Key Responsibilities
-Provide a warm, genuine greeting to all guests upon arrival, quickly understanding their
needs and preferences to offer the ideal seating arrangement.
-Efficiently manage the restaurant's reservation book, ensuring timely seating of guests and
effectively handling peak times to maximize dining satisfaction.
-Take and manage to-go orders with precision, ensuring order accuracy and providing guests
with estimated wait times and exceptional service over the phone and in person.
-Stay well-informed of the restaurant's menu, special promotions, and upcoming events to
offer recommendations and answer any guest inquiries with confidence.
-Liaise with service and kitchen staff to monitor wait times, communicate any delays to
guests proactively, and maintain a smooth operation.
-Ensure the entrance, waiting area, and dining room are clean, organized, and welcoming at
all times.
-Address and resolve guest feedback with empathy and professionalism, taking action to turn
around any less-than-perfect dining experiences.
-Support dining room efficiency by coordinating guest flow and table turnover with servers
and bussers, optimizing overall service delivery.
-Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to keep up-to-date with the latest
restaurant policies, menu changes, and service enhancements.

Requirements
-Experience in a host, receptionist, or customer service role is advantageous, showcasing a
track record of excellent guest service, but not required.
-Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, particularly during busy periods, without
compromising service quality.
-Strong verbal communication skills, complemented by a friendly and professional demeanor.
-Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move swiftly to manage the dining area
and to-go order station.
-Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, meeting the
operational needs of the restaurant.
-A positive, solution-oriented attitude, with a genuine passion for creating memorable guest
experiences.
