Duties Description The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Park Manager 1, SG-18, or their designee on the maintenance crew. Duties shall include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and oversee the cleaning operations at Lakeside State Park and Oak Orchard State Marine Boat Launch.
- Supervise a small crew of lower-level cleaning seasonal staff; train cleaners in routine & deep cleaning practices within the campground, day use areas, and boat launch facilities.
- Access the Aspira reservation system to confirm upcoming shelter reservations, post shelter rental signs and coordinate cleaning of shelters for days they are rented.
- Track cleaning supply inventory and create order requests for cleaning supplies.
- Track and schedule important cleaning tasks and deadlines around holidays, special events, etc. throughout the season.
- Assist the Park Manager and second-in-command with cleaning staff seasonal evaluations by providing input and general feedback regarding the cleaning staff's work.
- Assist with daily chlorine residual testing and daily playground inspections.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed throughout the season:
o Operate equipment including weed trimmers, mowers, skid steers, and wood chippers to maintain grounds.
o Water flowerbeds and maintain park garden areas.
o Utilize hand and power tools.
o Assist higher-level staff with basic trades projects if needed.
o Operate light and medium-duty vehicles.
o Assist with tree and brush cleanup as needed.
Minimum Qualifications No minimum qualification per Civil Service.

Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.
- Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Must have basic computer knowledge of the internet and Microsoft 365 Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Must have the ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor and lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
- Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must have the ability to sit, stand, bend, and squat for various periods of time.
- Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays especially during the peak operating season between May and October.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in cleaning operations is preferred.
