SUMMARY

Our company is searching for a responsible and reliable candidate who is experienced in food safety guidelines and food preparation for large groups. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all the qualifications but have sufficient experience and talent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares food for all consumers and modified diets according to allergies, hypersensitivities, and dietary restrictions
  • Maintains a safe working environment by following all safety procedures, including the use of standard precautions, properly securing the food service area, and proper storage and use of chemicals
  • Demonstrates proper use and storage of equipment and maintains a clean environment
  • Cleans, maintains, and sanitizes all pots, pans, trash containers, cooking utensils, floor, shelves, coolers, freezers, food storage rooms, dining room, service area, and equipment to exceed any, and all inspections
  • Ensures that all health and safety regulations with regard to the kitchen area, the cooking of meals, and storing of food are followed
  • Monitors supplies and coordinates purchases to assure necessary items are available
  • Maintains outside food and health training to remain compliant as a food handler
  • Maintains hygienic practices (e.g., not touching hair or face without hand washing) and then handling food
  • Monitors meal-time as needed
  • Must maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer service interactions
  • Participates in ongoing in-service education programs and staff development programs
  • Maintains core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn Agency policy, rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have good professional boundaries
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • Must arrive at work on time, make good use of time while at work and be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to work independently, in a restricted physical environment for extended periods of time
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must complete outside food and health training to remain compliant as a food handler
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS
  • One year of experience of cooking for large groups preferred
  • Ability to use telephone, PC, fax machine, copy machine, and printer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
  • Ability to use telephone, PC, fax machine, copy machine, and printer
