Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs preparation and service of food and provides general supervision to hostesses. Assists with tray quality audits, tallies, education of staff and processing of menus. Prepares nourishments and tube feedings. Oversees the floor stock functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Coordinates the duties and schedule for the Catering program. Serves food both accurately and timely to customers according to departmental standards. Responds to customer needs in a timely manner. Coordinates the catering menu selections with production staff. Correctly interprets and prepares the menus for catering functions. Processes all paperwork associated with catering functions. Checks food and supplies for compliance with sanitation and safety according to departmental standards. Stores food and supplies according to departmental standards. Performs operator maintenance on equipment according to departmental standards. Identifies and reports defective equipment in a timely manner to supervisor and facilities department. Performs cleaning activities according to departmental standards. Utilizes proper channels of communication to resolve departmental issues on an ongoing basis. Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services according to departmental standards. Maintains a neat clean and safe work environment according to departmental standards. Demonstrates the ability to function independently in the absence of a supervisor by solving routine problems. Consistently functions as a resource and team leader to members of the Food Service Department. Actively participates in and/or leads Catering services initiatives as defined by the department.
REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years Three years of experience in a health care food services department is required in order to provide leadership to the catering functions. Required
- SERVE SAFE Certification- Preferred
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Excellent customer service skills required. Proficiency in the English language required. Ability to perform math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in order to do production tallies and run a cash register.
